Update (Late August, 2026, a few weeks after Glen’s tragic and fatal motorcycle accident): The particular “high note” I’ve tried to capture Glen Hansard reaching is curiously referred to as an “appoggiature” by Doug Helvering in the YouTube video I’ve inserted below. Please check it out because he expresses the grief and deep appreciation in a remarkably technical and sensitive manner. I’ll leave it at that.
