Blue Eagle in Athens, OH

My first Athens, OH iPad drawing of a local landmark. Unfolding re-entry story to follow. Sketch Club app, Apple Pencil, iColorama, and an iPad Pro.

40 Court St.

See an accompanying video…it’s a kind of illustration of “value,” check it out:

My friend’s grandson

His name is Sean Reeser. He plays sax; and, he plays it well.
I drew him on my iPad using an Apple Pencil in the Sketch Club app with a final tweak or two in iColorama.
Check him out below playing with @ZackGrooves and Everything Yes, Live at Memphis Drum Shop.

Copper Pretzel Plumbing on my New iPad

Image

I recently got a new iPad, a sixth-generation iPad Pro, 12.9-inch (33 cm), colloquially known as the M2 iPad Pro, complete with digital copper plumbing, 512 GB and, by necessity, a new 2nd generation Apple Pencil. Yea, it’s amazing; it’s my 3rd iPad since I started drawing and painting on an iPad in 2013, 10 years ago!

Here are a few other digital renderings done on my new device – mostly composed in Sketch Club using iColorama, Procreate and VideoShop here and there:

Digital Renderings: My Entry in Emergence, A CHAA Art Exhibit

Labor Day Get Away, Cayucos, CA

We left Merced, CA at 9 am, and by 12:30 we were seated at the Fish Gaucho bar in Paso Robles, CA for lunch. Within an hour we were seated on our balcony at the Shoreline Inn in Cayucos, CA. Annyth snapped this photo just as I said, I wonder if there is a drone-delivery margarita service; see the video below.

That look! Listen to what I thought he was hearing in his head. Go ahead, click on it.

My dad and his cigar

I revisited a digital painting I did of my dad in 2016, a post of which you can see here. I made some structural adjustments in Procreate and videotaped the reduction of an effect I had added in iColorama. It was a Fathers Day urge. Here’s how it came out:

33 Extra Minutes with Ed Greb

Professor Edward M. Greb, June 16, 1933 ~ January 18, 2021 (age 87)
See the Sketch Club stats:

I got to spend an additional 33 minutes on my iPad in Sketch Club with Dr. Greb this Spring morning. He played quite an influential role in my personal growth and early professional development. His Introduction to Anthropology course there at Washington & Jefferson College was my introduction to anthropology in real life. In his syllabus he quoted Don Quijote de La Mancha, which I was reading in Spanish for the first time that same semester. He gracefully escorted me into the early stages of adulthood.
