Technical: Started this off with the black, single-continuous-line-with-one-or-two-exceptions technique in Paper 53 and then finished it off in Procreate with some coloring effects and stuff.
I pass this little corner market at the corner of K and 23rd, not to mention the nearby train station and the old Ford pickup truck, on my way to and from the 17th Street Pub.
Technical: I snapped a photo of this using my iPhone, viewed it in iPhoto on my external monitor, hand held my iPad and began sketching free hand in Paper 53 and finished it in Procreate. Good practice.

Scripted in what sense? In practically every conceivable way: Parallel, pre-polarized, non-interactive, counter-directional, anti-dialogical, communication.

I downloaded/purchased ($5.99) Procreate, a new iPad drawing app for me, and in the company’s own words, “the most powerful and intuitive digital illustration app available for iPad.” It’s about time I branch out from Paper 53. Folks say Procreate is easy, but I can tell already that it’s more complex than Paper 53, which I will continue to use. Procreate makes use of layers, and photos can be imported, modified, kept or cleared away.
My decision was based on comments and recommendations from other iPad sketcher types. I hope I’ll be able to access a few tutorials from a 12 yr. old instructor on YouTube in addition to all the other ones. Lots to learn.

Doesn’t it seem like the record-breaking profits that some companies are enjoying defy the law of gravity and somehow float upwards into the execusphere? They sure don’t seem to be recirculated into customer service, do they?

I love a parade! Always have…helps when your mom’s birthday was on July 4th. For years I thought all the hoopla was because of her birthday! (Secretly, I still do.)
